Tools & Things
Missing a vital tool for your DIY project? Why not borrow it from our brand-new tool and equipment library! Launch date Monday 27 JulyDo you have costly tools at home that you hardly ever use– a hedge trimmer that comes out once a year, or a power drill that is only used when a new shelf needs fitting?
Tools & Things is a ‘library’ of useful tools that you can borrow whenever you need them. Just choose what you want from the online catalogue, then call in at The George and pick it up! It’s a great way to save money, avoid waste and reduce your carbon footprint.
How does it work?
- Click on the link below to access the Tools & Things library site.
- Register as a Tools & Things member. It’s free to join, but you will need to read and agree to our Terms & Conditions before you sign up.
- Browse the catalogue and choose the item you need.
- Follow the instructions to book your item. The usual loan period is one week.
- Collect the item from The George.
- Return the item in the same condition you borrowed it.
- Fill in a feedback form.
What does it cost?
Use of Tools & Things is FREE, but we would appreciate a small donation per item to help cover our running costs, and we may ask for a deposit on some more valuable items. A charge will also be made to cover the cost of consumables such as sanding discs and blades.
What can I borrow?
We’re adding to the list of tools all the time. Currently the list includes a pressure washer, steam cleaner, thermal imaging camera, hammer drill, hedge trimmer, strimmer, soldering iron, toolbox (with basic toolkit) and even a kids’ party kit. To see the full range, click on the button below.
Can I donate items?
We welcome good quality items but to avoid disappointment please check with us before bringing them to The George. Thanks!
CAN YOU HELP?
We need volunteers for this project. All roles are small and flexible. If interested, please email info@thegeorgeatnewnham.co.uk or pop into The George and leave your contact details with us.
