The George Community Hub in Newnham on Severn
Welcome to The George
We are a thriving volunteer-run community hub in the historic riverside village of Newnham on Severn. Following a successful fundraising campaign, our building was bought and renovated in 2022-23. It now includes a café, secondhand shop, spaces for hire, as well as a spacious first-floor gallery where you can enjoy a whole range of events from talks and readings, films and live music to pop-up food nights. Come and explore what we have to offer!

Wheelchair Accessible
Café
Our ground-floor café is a great place to eat, drink, meet friends or just sit and watch the world go by. We stock a whole range of artisan teas, coffees, cold drinks including local beers and ciders, and there’s always a delicious selection of cakes to choose from. All dietary needs are catered for, and we always try to support local food producers where possible.
Gallery
Our first-floor gallery which is upstairs is a large space which is one of a kind in the Forest of Dean. We want to celebrate emerging and established local talent so that our community can benefit from the diverse array of arts and crafts we are showcasing.
We have a lift to the gallery floor.
