Poetry Night: The Things We Leave Behind – Readings by Rose Lennard & Angela France + Open Mic, Saturday 10 October, 7.30pm

Join us for a very special evening of poetry, featuring readings by acclaimed Gloucestershire poets Rose Lennard and Angela France, and an Open Mic session in which audience members are invited to read their own work.

Rose Lennard is a retired landscape architect and garden designer, now walking the hills, growing vegetables and doing her bit for the environment. She writes to uncover truth, to unpick puzzles, to craft unexpected beauty. Her poems have been published widely, and her first collection, Much of What I know About Love I Learnt From Trees, has recently been published by Graffiti Books and is available from www.aspect-design.net.

Angela France has published poems in many leading journals and anthologies. Of her five published collections, The Hill was developed into a live multimedia show which she toured with the help of Arts Council funding. Her latest collection, Terminarchy, was published by Nine Arches Press in July 2021 and launched at Ledbury Poetry Festival. Angela teaches creative writing at the University of Gloucestershire and also runs a reading series, ‘Buzzwords’ in Cheltenham.

Open Mic Session
If you have a poem of your own that you would like to read in front of a live audience, please feel free to take part in the Open Mic Session in the second half of the evening. To sign up, please arrive in good time and add your name to the list by the door of the Gallery. The list will close at 7.15pm.
