    The River Wye, one of our most beautiful waterways, is dying as a direct result of agricultural pollution and raw sewage outflows. In this exhibition, seventeen display panels explore the rich heritage of the Wye and the threats it faces. Learn about its extraordinary history, geology and wildlife – and don't miss the accompanying talk on Friday 3 October, 3.30pm, when Celine O'Donovan from leading environmental lawyers Leigh Day will explain how YOU can join the legal battle to save The Wye.

    The FarOpen annual Autumn Exhibition is back, with twenty-eight local artists and makers exhibiting everything from paintings, prints and photographs to cards, cushions, coasters and felt hats. Come along to browse, meet and chat with the artists, shop Christmas gifts – there's an abundance of art and craft to choose from. All welcome!

  • Tolkien’s Gloucestershire – The Real Middle Earth, Talk by Andy Meller, Thursday 23 October, 7.30pm

    From the famous tree-lined 'Tolkien door' of St Edward's Church, Stow to the grounds of Lydney Park and the Scowles in the Forest of Dean (above), the landscape of Gloucestershire profoundly shaped J.R.R. Tolkien's imagination – and particularly his vision of Middle Earth. Join historian Andy Meller for this intriguing illustrated talk exploring Tolkien's lifelong passion for archaeology, myth and the Gloucestershire landscapes that inspired him.

  • INKED: An Exhibition of Printmaking from The Yard Print Studio, Friday 7 to Saturday 22 November, 10.30am to 4.00pm (closed Sundays & Mondays)

    INKED exhibition of print showcases work by sixteen printmakers using hand-made processes. Gallery 1 hosts work by regular members of The Yard Print Studio. Gallery 2 (the smaller adjoining room) shows work by three printmakers who took up residence at The Yard during August and September 2025, when they explored their practice and developed new work with studio founder and printmaker Nichola Goff as part of the INKED festival Residency Programme.
