Local farmer Chris North reveals how regenerative farming can improve soil health, enhance biodiversity, build resilience in the face of climate change and go beyond sustainability to actively restore and enhance ecosystems.

Chris writes:
‘Since starting to farm in my own right in 2018 I’ve seen the weather patterns drastically change from traditional seasons to real extremes. As a custodian of the land I have a real passion for pasture-based farming. This, along with the extreme weather patterns, really focused my mind on what we farmers can do to improve our environmental credentials. I have taken the farm down the regenerative route not only in order to provide quality feed for my cows, but also to improve the biodiversity in my soil and grasslands and sequester more carbon.’
