DESCRIPTION:Experience the groundbreaking three-part documentary by Yann Arthus-Bertrand\, together with a unique exhibition of portraits that includes paintings\, photographs and work in a range of different media by people of all ages including local children. \nTold through breathtaking aerial cinematography and intimate first-person stories from around the world\, Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s documentaries reveal the joys\, struggles\, and hopes that unite us all. Challenge yourself to engage with the beauty and high emotion of these films\, and explore your own response by taking part in discussion after the screenings. \nFilm 1: Thursday 5 March\, 7.00pm\nFilm 2: Friday 13 March\, 7.00pm\nFilm 3: Thursday 19 March\, 7.00pm \nThe exhibition will run from from Tuesday 3 to Saturday 21 March and can be visited during normal cafe opening hours. \nAdmission is free – donations invited to help cover our running costs. DESCRIPTION:Learn how to drive local climate action and inspire change in your community with this accredited course led by Emma Burlow of Lighthouse Sustainability. \nCourse Benefits\nYou will gain: \n\nUnderstanding of the science of climate change and how it impacts your community\nConfidence to talk about action on climate change within your community\nClarity on which actions have the greatest impact\nOpportunity to network with like-minded individuals within the community\nAccess to a digital platform with a suite of resources and further reading\nA personal commitment to action through community-based pledges\nCertification as a Carbon Literate individual.\n\nCourse delivery\nThe course takes place over three two-and-a half-hour interactive sessions including case studies and peer discussion\, supplemented by a couple of hours of self-study. At the end\, you complete your pledges to gain your individual Carbon Literate certification from the Carbon Literacy Project. \nPlease note: Booking is free but a donation of £40 per person is suggested to cover the cost of printed certificate and light evening meal. \nPlease book your place on the course using the form below.
